It all started out in August 2006, when Lead Guitarist Christian was hiring people for his band project. Things moved from there and the set up changed as rapidly as the music itself. Bandmembers joined and left, time passed while the band practised every night and day to improve and shape their sound. Ette (aka Tjörven) was the last one to join the band in 2008. In 2009, the band starts to attend several newcomer contests to gain popularity and quickly earns the long awaited success for their effort - they get into the final round of the Emergenza, a popular live band festival, with live concert slots all over the world. "We just came out of nowhere. No one knew us and we didn't know how people would react to us..." vocalist Johanna says, "We always did our own thing somehow and we never really fitted into any kind of scene. We're not afraid to try out new things and we're happy if people appreciate our honesty and join us on our way." there's a lot of truth in that statement if you focus on Akira's influences and the way they present themselves on stage. The young band is one of the few german-singing bands out there that want to convince people with their wild mixture of several music genres and they're on the best way to reach that goal. We're talking about a serious World Domination here...
